Pakistan is a water-stressed country, with shortages set to compound in the months ahead. In response, in collaboration with our agri-clients and a tech partner, we supported the deployment of soil moisture sensors to improve water-use efficiency at the farm gate. While the tech is not new, the difference is its 'effective localization' in Pakistan, making it cost-effective while ensuring high-output standards (in terms of accuracy of prediction, the durability of the product, etc). Through the use of the tech, the return on investment for the farmer is reduced to less than 1 year, shifting the ‘cost-benefit’ in favor of the farmer.

The technology helped reduce the water cost for farmers (reducing the cost of production), increased crop yields, enhanced the quality/ longevity of their land, and most importantly, conserved water.
